Our Vinerji Journey

Vinerji is a cider vinegar that is carefully crafted on our family farm in Northumberland County, about an hour east of Toronto, Ontario. Our journey, however, took us all over the world, as we made a commitment to creating a vinegar that would change lives for the better.

Vinerji was a result of the positive energy that comes from sharing ideas and good times with family and friends.

We’re the Vinerji founders, a group of friends who live in Cobourg, a small town in southern Ontario, Canada. We share a passion for family, health and influencing positive change. Living in different parts of the world for much of our adult lives, the power of vinegar had touched us all in different ways. 

Essentially, we wanted to create a cider vinegar that tasted great and had optimal health benefits. We knew firsthand the benefits of vinegar, and figs. We also knew there had to be a better product than apple cider vinegar, which tastes awful. So, we dug deep into the best methods of making the highest quality vinegar, and what fermented fruit would create the best version of cider vinegar.

Our process search led us to the mountains of Austria, where we found our vinegar guru. Here we learned the important keys (and equipment) needed to produce the best vinegar in the world.

Our fermented fruit search led us to Asia, where ancient Chinese practices had been fermenting figs for medicinal purposes for thousands of years.

We had our recipe, we had our process, and we had our mentor. After nearly three years of trial, error and planning, we are now extremely proud to introduce the world to our fig vinegar baby, Vinerji.
